When followers who have always shown support say that they look up to me, they actually inspire me, and that means the world. ‘My main aim is to inspire and help others reach for their dreams too along the way in any way I can. Kemi is one of very few female black gamers and she hopes to combine her expertise in Journalism, Gaming and Media after graduating with a Doctorate to collaborate with a leading Games company and also teach undergrad students interactive digital gaming related modules in the future. Catch her at some of the top gaming events in London, Europe and globally this year and next including EGX, and E3 in Los Angeles and Gamescom in 2022. Alongside her university supervisors, Kemi hopes to complete her thesis and present a valuable piece of research in contributing to Gaming research study. Kemi is currently preparing to study for a PhD in Computer Science & Sociology, researching the positive link between player experience and immersion in character creation following the pandemic, in a mainstream AAA title game. Kemi also worked as a publicist to Jermaine Riley - formerly 1/3 of UK R&B Group FDM/Fundamental (03), who were previously signed to Geffen Records & Ne-Yo's Compound Entertainment Label. Kemi formerly wrote a monthly celebrity column for MTV UK's The Wrap Up, has also interned with FHM, VIBE Magazine, and worked with Atlantic Records, Revolver Entertainment, SMC Europe, TNT, BET International, Persona PR, Sony Music, Impressive PR, EA Games – The Sims FreePlay Gamer Influencer and Engagement Program, EGX, MTV Networks, ITV 1 talkbackTHAMES Syco TV Production for the X Factor UK. Qualifying as a Journalist, she learnt valuable experience in the media and entertainment industry, and interned with TV broadcasting corporations and leading UK magazines, learning editorial skills and self taught web design including CMS, HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Kemi then went on to obtain a Masters Degree in International Journalism at City University London.
She later graduated from college with a Bachelors Honours Degree in American Studies and History.
Currently residing in England, Kemi grew up from an all girl’s private school educational background and strong academic ability. Kemi is a Journalist, Blogger, Gamer and Gaming PhD Research Student with an undeniable genuine passion and enthusiasm for her profession and the video games industry. This blog is updated weekly with gaming updates based on the games I play the most, and new popular titles, PlayStation news, reviews, to gaming events I attend, brand collaborations, and all the things I love.
